Congratulations, we at Team RC are taking a moment to inform you that your tank was recently nominated for the honor of Reefkeeping Magazine’s Tank of the Month. As you are probably aware, once nominated the tank is then scrutinized, critiqued and subsequently voted upon by Reef Central’s Team RC Members. So it is with great enthusiasm that we at Team RC extend an invitation to have your beautiful tank featured as one of Reefkeeping Magazine’s coveted Tanks of the Month!
Currently i'm attempting to notify the selected tank owners between 2-3 months before we plan on featuring the tank in Reefkeeping Magazine. This is done in order to give you ample time to prepare the highlighted write up and provide quality photographs for the article. This also allows the editor of Reefkeeping Magazine time to process and format the information for the best possible feature and present your tank in an eye catching and rewarding article.
If you accept the invitation please reply to this PM as soon as possible so that we can go over the necessary information in more detail.
I understand that receiving this message may be a little overwhelming for some and to help you begin putting things together, I have attached the following list of things you may wish to start thinking about and begin getting ready to make the process as smooth as possible:
• Read through several Tank of the Month articles in order to get a feel for the content that we are looking for in order to put the piece together.
• Get your tank cleaned up, cleaning viewing panes, removing frag racks and other unsightly objects and make sure the tank is how you would want it pictured.
• Start putting together an itemized list and take or get pictures set aside of the tank’s inhabitants.
• Pictures of the build process are always encouraged and equipment pictures go a long way.
• Start putting together a write up about your tank.
• In order to keep the integrity of the TOTM we ask that you not tell anyone about the feature aside from maybe your spouse, family, etc.
• Lastly, in order to maintain Reefkeeping Magazine’s cutting edge approach to bringing the highest-quality content to its readers and presenting your tank in the most rewarding fashion, we respectfully request that your tank not be featured in any other web-based or print feature until after the month it is spotlighted in Reefkeeping Magazine.
