this tank is send by friend .it is originally using as a fish tank about 5-6 yrs, in which a large anount of reef.About 1.5yrs ago I change it into a coral tank. At the beganing of feeding coral it is very difficult, many corals are die in this condition. And about 8 months ago ,I take out all the reef and clean it with tap water gentelly , and change all the sea water at one time , and change the light source to HOI (WZJ) . Addtion of Ca(OH)2 water everyday ,the condition is going better day by day. I thought that the living organism in my tank originally are not survive very well , after l
have setup a better condition .The living organism are growing steadly. and so the coral become stead. As a conculsion, A stable ecology is established by:
1: netural sea water,since they include living organism.
2: live reef.
3: HQI
4: Feeding in just enought amount.
About the filter system, I thought that the slow water flow on the filter chamber is important, since too fast of the filtration rate ,the microrganism cannot digest the nutrition at such fast rate.I have been use skimmer for a few months ,
and I stop to use this machine about 6 months ago. At the beginning I want to test the difference between them. After these 6 months I though that skimmer is not the most important equidment in feed LPS, at least in my tank.
I thought everyone must have his own method to treat his thank . We can't say which one is better, but keep patient to your coral is important.
